Job Description
This position will engage with fellowship programs, local and national thought leaders (practicing surgeons) providing consultation, education, and resources for key orthopedic focus areas within the clinical community. This role is critical relative to VOC exchange, education and development of emerging and current orthopedic procedures, products, and techniques. The Field Based Procedural Training Specialist will play a major role in supporting labs, courses, and trade shows. This role will work closely with the sales staff in an assigned geographic area and in conjunction with sales development to deliver sales training and field- based sales support.
POSITION FUNCTIONS:
35%
Execute focused technique and product education strategies to targeted domestic, international surgeons and fellows via labs, courses and trade shows while providing these critical customers current scientific data, and any potential clinical trial opportunities. Develop and sustain mutually beneficial professional relationships with these key surgeons. Develop and execute fellowship management pathways that would include product and technique education, research opportunities, clinical white papers, tracking and relocation of the fellows.
25%:
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing surgeon education programs. This may include working with staff at off-site labs and/or hospitals and surgery centers, liaising between faculty members, course attendees, travel dept. and hotel sales and event departments.
15%:
Assist Marketing and R&D in gaining competitive intelligence and clinical feedback on new product ideas, to include conducting field trials and submitting trial reports. Provide regular monthly written communication to in-house personnel regarding field experiences, new product ideas, technique improvements, surgical trends, and all other pertinent information.
15%:
Responsible for all aspects of Bioskills lab training sessions. Including organization and execution of specific activities; demonstration of advanced orthopedic techniques; product training on capital equipment, instruments, and implants. Responsible for all activities associated with lab maintenance including facility upkeep, equipment upkeep, maintaining supplies, specimen care, waste disposal and maintaining all HSE requirements.
10%:
Develop strong relationships with Key Opinion Leaders. Provide visibility of emerging technology with surgeons not currently using the client's technology to cultivate new relationships. Next generation Key Opinion Leader development to be aligned with strategic marketing goals.
Travel: up to 50%
Education: AS/BS/MA in credentialed field preferred (PA-C, RN, ST, etc.) or equivalent.
Licenses/Certifications: Nursing and/or surgical technologist
Experience:
Five (5+) years of OR experience with three (3+) years demonstrated commercial experience, preferably in a healthcare industry. Exposure to operating room or lab environment is absolutely necessary.
Competencies:
Ability to analyze and interpret technical manuals, scientific literature and general business materials.
OTHER:
Assist Sales and Marketing with trade shows, workshops, labs and other events as requested. Assist in cadaveric labs by creating pathology in order to utilize products. Requires ability to move, push and lift equipment (sometimes heavy equipment) for set up and tear down of labs and trade shows and to and from facilities for surgeon education and training. Competent in all product knowledge in order to support the field personnel & cadaveric lab events.
Good communication, presentation and computer skills including MSWord, Excel, and PowerPoint. Personable, Energetic, Responsive, Confident, Positive attitude and Honest
Pay ranges between $45-55/hr based on expereience
