This position is not an administrative position. This position not only coordinates and manages the considerable volume of information and data generated by DSI Pharmaceutical Technology (PT) Chemistry Manufacturing & Controls Management & Operations (CMC M&O) and Clinical Supply Operations (CSO) but is also responsible for the accuracy and completeness of said internally generated data by relying on previously learned processes and existing procedures.

This information (referenced above) is related to situations where the data is
1) internally generated from client Pharmaceutical Technology sites in Germany or Japan
2) externally generated at reputable Contract Manufacturing/Contract Research Organizations (CMOs/CROs) and
3) is in the form of internally generated databases created, tested, and maintained by DSI PT that are necessary for the various groups to function efficiently.

This Position leads all operational tasks and process execution in order to support senior staff in maintaining critical database information (such as Contractor data, PT personnel contact information, Departmental Calendar and team building activities) and facilitates sharing of information not only with appropriate departments within DSI PT but on occasion within Global PT. The incumbent works independently and escalates, as appropriate, to the Director/Sr.Director of the department.

This position not only pilots new processes but participates in new process design and implementation. The ability to provide key guidance on current internal and pre-existing processes is important. This position is responsible for assisting in the training of others on new or pre-existing processes. PD staff as well as associated peers within the company are within scope. Demonstration of strong working knowledge of global practices related to departmental operating processes associated with legal and financial requirements is critical. A working knowledge of the departments Sharepoint 365 data management system is expected. Contract Management for contracts requiring internal approval only is required. A full understanding of how to initiate a contract, shepherd the contract through the review and approval process (legal and contract owner), generate the appropriate PO, track and manage the PO contract and ensure there is no service disruption is paramount.

  2. Learns to understand currently existing operational processes.
  3. Proactively demonstrates the ability to understand the causes of  issues, with limited guidance, escalating as appropriate.
  4. Ability to successfully track and summarize millions of dollars in contractual expenses across multiple functional areas with little to no oversight.
  5. Self-motivated with the ability to interface, collaborate, and negotiate with team/project members to work towards common goal with appropriate mentorship and  guidance
  6. Ability to juggle multiple activities concurrently when needed; proactively escalates issues when risk of not meeting an objective arises
  7. Understands the functional role and learning others’ functional roles within the clinical trial process
  8. Accuracy and Attention to Detail is a must.: Implementing a company’s procedural standards requires the utmost accuracy and attention to detail. Sr. Operations Associates needs  the utmost attention to detail when managing deliverables with the desire to double and triple check everything (minor errors can cause major ramifications due to the size of project budgets)
  9. Analytical Skills: Sr. Operations Associates call upon their analytical skills when evaluating invoice errors or project estimate anomalies. Proficient in Microsoft  ( Word, Excel, Outlook), Share point 

Education:
  • Associates degree and three (3) years’ experience in pharmaceutical database management; experience in database/system verification  (including Good Documentation Practice), front-end database configuration, and/or data querying/reporting required. Pharmaceutical Development (RACMC, CMC, CSO) Understanding preferred. 
  • B.S. degree preferred
