Job Description

As a Scientist here, you will advance our genetic medicine technologies, enabling the discovery and development of new therapeutics. Working with a diverse team of cell biologists, protein and RNA engineers, computational scientists, molecular biologists, and translational biologists, you will lead the design, execution, and analysis of experiments in some or all of the
following areas:

- Building improved CRISPR-Cas-related and novel systems that enable therapeutic
genome and transcriptome engineering
- Demonstrating the functional impact of our therapeutic candidates with in vitro and in
vivo model systems
- Enhancing and deepening our genomics analysis of candidate therapies in our pipeline
- Developing in vivo delivery approaches for our candidate therapies using AAV and LNP platforms
- Leveraging the literature to identify and implement new ideas and approaches
- Mentoring and managing junior scientists/associates by leading discussions of new ideas and/or approaches, challenging ideas and interpretations, and cultivating teams to help solve challenging experimental questions
- And finally, combining all of these to develop novel therapeutic products that change
the lives of patients

What we’re looking for:
- A PhD in a biological discipline, or a masters with a minimum of four years of experience in independent experimental design, focused on bioengineering to change the behavior of cells through control of the genome or transcriptome
- A creative thinker with a track record of high-quality data generation
- An experimentalist ready and able to drive to the full cycle of design/build/test/analyze

What characterizes a top candidate (preferred but not required):
- Demonstrated track record of characterizing, developing or optimizing genome or
transcriptome modification systems
- Experience engineering protein-DNA and/or protein-RNA interactions
- Experience using gene-editing tools for human therapeutics
- Experience establishing pooled or other high throughput screens

Salary range:  150k-160k range based on experience.
