Department/Team Overview
Our department is at the interface of research and clinical trials. Our goal is to not only understand the nonclinical outcomes of our gene therapies, but to also transfer these methods to bioanalytical assays used in clinical trials. We have a diverse team with the core value of working together and supporting one another to achieve our goals with the highest quality results. Many of our team members are on-site full-time, where collaboration and exchanging of ideas are at the center of our day-to-day interactions. We also engage with other departments for various research programs including, pharmacology/toxicology, vector biosciences, analytical development, production development, and clinical operations. Our BA members are friendly, data driven and eager to learn new things.

Intern Position Summary

The internship role in Bioanalytics will introduce the intern to wet lab techniques analyzing nonclinical samples for biodistribution and gene expression.

Intern Job Responsibilities/Deliverables

The intern will work on vector copy analysis for nonclinical mouse studies planned next year. The intern will be responsible for learning tissue extraction, gDNA extraction and purification, as well as qPCR or ddPCR to analyze vector copy number. The intern will also learn how to analyze results with equipment software as well as data analysis tools such as GraphPad and JMP.

Intern Qualifications and Skills
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in life sciences
  • Must have an interest in pursuing a career in Life Sciences/Biotech/Pharmaceuticals
  • Ability to manage workload effectively including planning, organizing, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
  • Prefer a candidate who has completed the following coursework: introductory biochemistry, genetics, and microbiology courses/labs.
