Department/Team Overview

Scientific Communications is a global team that is responsible for content development and identification of data gaps through several functions. The team’s aim is to educate and engage with internal and external stakeholders with the hope of maximizing outcomes for patients and caregivers.
Intern Position Summary
The intern will have an opportunity to be involved in the different functions of the scientific communications team. This will involve:
  • Publication planning
  • Congress planning
  • Content development for congress materials
  • Content development for presentations or training material
  • Assist in review and approval of deliverables
  • Proofreading
  • Working group/logistic meetings for congresses
  • Literature review

Intern Job Responsibilities/Deliverables
  • Learning and development on diseases and pipeline programs
  • Onboarding on assigned projects
  • Content development for these projects
  • Annotation of materials related to the content
  • Assist in review and final approval of congress materials
  • Lead a journal club
  • Preparation of the final report on key learnings from the internship

The global medical affairs (GMA) team has a robust plan for scientific communications in 2023. This involves several publications, congress activities, symposiums, and internal training material. The intern will be involved in some of these activities, depending on the priorities of the team. The intern will have an opportunity to learn of processes involved in planning for these events, including approvals and reviews from Ethics and Compliance, the Legal team, etc. The internship is a great opportunity for learning about the functions of GMA.

Intern Qualifications and Skills
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, PhD, or PharmD degree in life sciences
  • Must have an interest in pursuing a career in Life Sciences/Biotech/Pharmaceuticals
  • Ability to manage workload effectively including planning, organizing, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
