Job Description
Summary:
This position is responsible for understanding firm demand to coordinate and maintain production schedules, ensuring deliverables align in the most efficient way. The role involves working closely with various departments to ensure a smooth and efficient production flow. A dynamic professional with a strong background in Material Requirement Planning (MRP), sales, inventory, operations planning, and procurement is required. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the biotech industry.
Key responsibilities include processing sales orders, reviewing requests and orders submitted by sales and customer service, and tracking requested volumes to ensure material is not oversold. This role is responsible for unit selection, testing, and shipping for select customers, as well as tracking test results from vendors and internal labs. The candidate will work with the quality department to ensure all test results and documents are received. Additionally, they will manage scheduling, processing, and tracking of materials needing Gamma Irradiation and assist with ad-hoc operations duties.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and adjust production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize resources.
- Utilize MRP and Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning to forecast and plan production needs.
- Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely material availability.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and logistics to align production plans.
- Anticipate and address potential production issues, developing contingency plans.
- Continually review and improve production planning processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Process work orders received from Customer Service and support order fulfillment.
- Act as a liaison between manufacturing, warehouse, shipping teams, and commercial teams to meet customer requirements and commercial commitments.
- Perform routine sampling, inventory analysis, and manage related vendors.
- Ensure required materials are ready and available to meet customer needs and shipping dates.
- Interact with vendors and internal teams to ensure activities align with schedules.
Miscellaneous Tasks/Additional Support:
- Assist with orders and operations activities for other business lines as needed.
- Assist with manufacturing outlines for other business lines.
- Maintain required paperwork and keep it updated.
- Send samples to third-party labs when necessary and provide information to the in-house lab.
- Perform additional tasks as necessary.
Job Requirements:
- Requires a BS degree and 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ERP systems, Adobe, and SmartSheet.
Pay Rate Range: $25-45/hr depending on experience
