The Opportunity
We’re partnering with a globally recognised life sciences organisation at the forefront of preclinical research and drug discovery, currently expanding its commercial footprint across APAC. With strong backing, a highly respected scientific platform, and growing demand across pharma and biotech, the business is now looking to appoint a Business Development Director to drive growth across Korea and the wider region. This is a high-impact, externally facing role operating at the intersection of science and commercial strategy, working with some of the most advanced organisations in drug discovery.

The Role
You will take ownership of business development across Korea and broader APAC, driving revenue growth and expanding market presence within pharma, biotech, and research organisations. This role sits within an international commercial structure, working closely with global leadership while operating with high independence locally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business development and expand key accounts across the region
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategy aligned to global objectives
  • Build senior-level relationships across pharma, biotech, and research customers
  • Lead and optimise channel/distributor partnerships
  • Manage pipeline, forecasting, and market expansion initiatives
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights
  • Represent the organisation at scientific and industry events
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients in highly technical environments

What they’re looking for

  • 8-10+ years in life sciences / biotech / pharma commercial roles
  • Strong track record in business development and revenue growth
  • Experience working with technical or scientific product/service offerings
  • Exposure to channel/distributor models preferred
  • Ability to operate independently across multiple markets
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

Background

  • Degree in Life Sciences / Biomedical / related field
  • Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) advantageous
