Job Id: 627853
Associate Scientist, HTS & NGS
Job Description
NOTES:
- 6-month onsite contract role in Cambridge, MA supporting Korro’s RNA editing platform team. NOT temp-to-perm. Need is project-based/additional support due to increased workload.
- Team is flexible on background: candidates can come from either stronger HTS OR stronger NGS experience. Do NOT need both equally strong; HM/team willing to train the other side.
- Strong preference for biotech/startup candidates who can thrive in lean, fast-paced environments. Large pharma candidates may struggle culturally unless they’ve worked in smaller agile teams.
- RNA therapeutics background preferred, but DNA editing/CRISPR/genomics experience is transferable and acceptable.
- Key target backgrounds: HTS screening, functional genomics, NGS operations, CRISPR screening/platform biology, RNA therapeutics, sequencing workflows.
- Must-have technical areas include some combination of:
- HTS/cell-based assay experience
- NGS workflows/library prep/amplicon sequencing
- Molecular biology techniques (PCR/qPCR, transfection, RNA/DNA isolation)
- Automation/liquid handling exposure preferred
- Personality fit is important: looking for adaptable, detail-oriented, hands-on scientists comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small biotech environment.
- Level is flexible around Associate Scientist level depending on experience/budget.
- Interview process: HM Zoom screen followed by single onsite panel/lab walkthrough (~3 hours total). No presentation required.
- Bill rate target: $90-120/hr.
- Please include in submission:
- specific HTS and/or NGS experience
- automation/liquid handling systems used
Duration: 6 months (likely NOT extended)
Bill Rate: Flexible
Location: Cambridge, MA – Onsite
