Job Description

Clinical Nurse Supervisor

Join a leading early-phase clinical research unit as a Clinical Nurse Supervisor, providing hands-on leadership, operational oversight, and high-quality clinical care. This role suits an experienced RN who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and enjoys guiding teams through complex study activities.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and supervise clinical staff to ensure all study procedures meet GCP, protocol, and SOP requirements.

  • Coordinate daily clinical unit operations, including staffing, participant flow, bed allocation, consumables, and equipment readiness.

  • Perform and oversee protocol-driven clinical procedures, medication administration, and participant monitoring.

  • Manage adverse event documentation and escalate clinical concerns to Medical Officers.

  • Maintain equipment servicing, calibration schedules, and facility standards.

  • Provide training, mentoring, and performance support for clinical staff.

  • Oversee biological sample collection, processing, and timely lab delivery.

  • Lead emergency responses and ensure compliance with resuscitation and safety procedures.

  • Manage shift handovers, staff breaks, communication updates, and operational troubleshooting.

  • Support project teams with study preparation, documentation, and issue resolution.

  • Promote a positive, inclusive team culture and uphold Learning & Development KPIs for direct reports.

What you bring

  • APHRA-registered Division 1 Registered Nurse with 5+ years’ post-graduate experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and independently manage clinical shifts.

  • Strong time-management, prioritisation, and documentation accuracy.

  • Ability to coordinate clinical trial activities in a regulated, protocol?driven environment.

  • Professionalism, initiative, and flexibility across duties and working hours.

  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of ICH-GCP and clinical trial operations.

  • Experience in venepuncture, cannulation, or central venous access.

  • High-acuity or acute care background.
