Senior Sales Leader – Japan
Location: Tokyo Function: Commercial Leadership
About the Japan Operation
The organization has a well?established presence in Japan’s molecular diagnostics and life science markets, operating through a hybrid direct?and?partner model. The Japan team focuses on workflow?driven solutions and strong channel collaboration to support customers across research, clinical, and applied segments.
Role Overview
This position leads a segment of the Japan commercial organization, ensuring the sales team operates with clarity, consistency, and strong execution. The role centers on developing sales managers, strengthening partner performance, and ensuring field teams translate strategy into meaningful customer impact.
Primary Areas of Impact

Driving Commercial Outcomes — Oversee revenue delivery, pipeline quality, and forecasting discipline.

Partner & Market Engagement — Support distributor performance, reinforce workflow priorities, and surface market intelligence.

Leadership Development — Build capability in sales managers and senior ICs; reinforce expectations and performance standards.

Cross?Team Coordination — Align with Marketing, Market Development, Service, and Operations to ensure initiatives land effectively.

Planning & Insight — Contribute field?based insights to planning cycles, reviews, and resource discussions.
Experience & Background
-
Master’s degree in bioscience or related field; MBA preferred

10+ years in commercial roles within life sciences or healthcare

3+ years leading sales teams or senior commercial functions

Strong experience working with distributors in Japan

Comfortable operating in global or regional matrix structures
