Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3+ years of experience configuring or administering LIMS in biotech, diagnostics, or research settings
- Strong understanding of sample management, workflow design, and data lifecycle within laboratory environments
- Proficiency with LIMS configuration, scripting, and system management, preferably with Sapio LIMS or similar platforms (e.g., LabVantage, Benchling, LabWare)
- Experience managing software upgrades, vendor coordination, and system validation processes
- Knowledge of regulated lab operations and compliance standards (CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively across technical and scientific teams
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple system initiatives in a fast-moving environment
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience integrating LIMS with instrument data capture or workflow automation tools
- Basic knowledge of SQL or Python for data automation or analysis tasks
- Familiarity with data governance, validation, and change control processes
- Background in molecular diagnostics, genomics, or other data-intensive laboratory disciplines
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Information Systems, or equivalent experience in laboratory systems
- 3 or more years of hands-on LIMS configuration and administration experience in a regulated environment
- Proven track record of managing enterprise software upgrades and vendor relationships in a biotech or diagnostic setting
Other Requirements
- Onsite presence required in Chicago, IL (5 days per week)
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic startup environment with evolving systems
- Relevant certifications in laboratory or data management are a plus
