About the Role
As Senior Director of Business Development, you’ll lead the charge in expanding our client’s footprint across oncology and rare disease markets. You’ll be responsible for designing and executing sales and marketing strategies, building strong client relationships, and securing new business opportunities. This is a client-facing role with significant visibility across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement targeted sales and marketing plans to attract biotech and pharma clients
- Qualify leads, conduct client meetings, and secure RFPs
- Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling proposals
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client-sponsored functions
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with CROs, data management firms, and other stakeholders
- Provide market intelligence and feedback to the Executive Team on pricing, competitiveness, and positioning
- Maintain accurate records and reporting via Salesforce or similar CRM tools
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, science, or healthcare
- 12+ years in the CRO/pharmaceutical industry
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred:
- Corporate management and sales experience within the CRO/pharma space
- Postgraduate qualifications
- Deep understanding of oncology and rare disease development markets
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively
- High level of professionalism and client service orientation
- Skilled in identifying risks, resolving challenges, and driving continuous improvement
