Role Overview

This role sits within the Japan sales organisation of a life sciences / genomics services company, supporting continued growth in the Japanese market. The Account Manager will be responsible for managing existing client relationships while developing new business across academic, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical research customers.

The position requires a blend of commercial capability and scientific understanding, making it well suited to candidates who are comfortable engaging with researchers and technical stakeholders.

Key Requirements
  • Native Japanese, or non-native Japanese with strong business-level Japanese
  • English at basic to intermediate level, sufficient for internal communication with regional/global teams
  • Scientific background in life sciences, biotechnology, or a related field strongly preferred
  • Prior experience in sales or account management within genomics / NGS is ideal
  • Candidates from adjacent scientific areas with a strong interest in genomics will also be considered
  • Not suitable for candidates from food science backgrounds or general pharma sales roles without a scientific foundation
