Research Associate I, QC Bioassay

Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of QC Bioassays or department manager, perform general laboratory research and experiments following established protocols and SOPs. The Research Associate I will perform routine laboratory and equipment maintenance, assist with ongoing research projects either independently or as a team member, and analyze and archive study data.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform and assist principal investigators with animal studies that may include: dose administration via intraperitoneal (IP), intradermal, subcutaneous (SQ), intramuscular (IM), and oral gavage routes
- Weigh mice daily and perform daily scoring after dosing completion
- Assist team with daily preparation for dosing activities
- Conduct necropsy and tissue or organ dissection as needed
- Observe and communicate animal health conditions to appropriate personnel
- Maintain and archive all study data files (electronic and hard copies)
- Understand and follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocol requirements for assigned laboratory activities
- Learn and perform new in vitro and in vivo models under general supervision
- Perform general laboratory maintenance tasks
- Ensure adherence to GMPs, GLPs, and GDPs as required
- Learn and develop proficiency in JMP analysis
- Experience handling research animals (mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits)
- Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and equipment techniques (e.g., pipettes, scales)
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Availability for weekend work
- Ability to perform basic dose formulation
- Prior experience reviewing and analyzing study data
- Minimum Required: Some experience working in a laboratory setting
- Preferred: One year in a related or relevant industry
- Minimum Required: Basic/general laboratory courses or experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in biology or relevant field
Pay Rate Range: $30-35/hr depending on experience
