Job Description
The Event Management Platform Lead will serve as the primary subject matter expert and product owner for our global event management platform, which supports in-person, hybrid, and virtual events across the organization. This role bridges event operations, technology, and product management to ensure seamless delivery of compliant and engaging experiences for internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing large-scale pharmaceutical or life sciences events and correlated technology platforms, strong technical and vendor management skills, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable system solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the product owner for the global event management platform, overseeing roadmap, requirements, enhancements, and integrations.

Serve as the go-to expert for event management tools and technology used across the organization.

Partner with internal stakeholders (Event Operations, Commercial, IT, Compliance, and Finance) to define and implement system processes that support end-to-end event delivery.

Manage relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., Cvent, Swapcard) to ensure system stability, functionality, and continuous improvement.

Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues; coordinate with vendors on enhancements and support tickets.

Provide guidance and training to event and operational teams to optimize platform usage and ensure consistency across regions and event types.

Support the planning and execution of Advisory Boards, KOL engagements, Investigator Meetings, and Congress events, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Analyze system data and user feedback to recommend improvements and new capabilities.
Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in event management, digital event technology, or related roles.

Proven experience with Cvent, Swapcard, or similar event management platforms.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical or life sciences events, including Advisory Boards and KOL/Congress meetings.
- Experience managing global events or technology rollouts that require coordination across regions and languages.

Demonstrated ability to act as a liaison between business users and technical teams.

Experience managing vendor relationships and overseeing platform integrations.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience

Background in product management, event technology, or digital engagement tools.

Experience working for or closely with pharma, biotech, or healthcare agencies supporting regulated event environments.

Familiarity with data privacy, compliance, and reporting requirements for pharma events (e.g., transparency reporting, attendee management).
