The Role
An established orthopaedic business is seeking an Area Sales Manager to lead commercial activity across Sweden for its Hip and Knee reconstruction portfolio. This role holds full responsibility for driving growth, strengthening clinical engagement and expanding market presence across assigned territories and hospital accounts.
You will operate as a senior field leader, working closely with surgeons, theatre teams and procurement stakeholders, while contributing local insights into broader regional strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Territory and Revenue Ownership
Own territory planning, forecasting and revenue delivery across Sweden
Drive sustained growth within public and private hospital accounts
Manage account strategies aligned to clinical adoption and procurement structures
Clinical Engagement and Case Support
Build strong long term relationships with orthopaedic surgeons specialising in Hip and Knee replacement
Provide in theatre case support and technical guidance
Deliver structured product training and educational support to hospital teams
Market Development
Increase visibility and uptake of the Hip and Knee portfolio across core accounts
Identify new opportunities through procedure trends and competitor movement
Maintain detailed knowledge of hospital decision makers and tender cycles
Stakeholder Collaboration and Compliance
Partner closely with internal commercial and marketing teams
Support distributor collaboration where applicable
Operate in full compliance with ethical standards, regulatory frameworks and local guidelines
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience selling orthopaedic implants with a dedicated focus on Hip and Knee replacement
- Proven track record supporting joint replacement procedures in operating theatre environments
- Established relationships with orthopaedic surgeons and hospital stakeholders in Sweden
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage and grow a territory autonomously
- Excellent communication skills across clinical and procurement audiences
