Job Title: Senior Business Development Manager
Location: Australia | Hybrid/Flexible
A growing clinical research organisation with a strong reputation in early-phase development is looking to hire a Senior Business Development Manager to support global expansion across biotech and emerging pharma partnerships.
This is a highly visible commercial role offering the opportunity to work directly with innovative biotech sponsors developing next-generation therapies across oncology, precision medicine, and other complex therapeutic areas.
The organisation operates in a fast-moving, growth-focused environment and is continuing to build momentum internationally, particularly across early clinical development programs supported through Australia’s globally competitive trial ecosystem.
The Opportunity
This role will suit someone who enjoys building relationships, opening new doors, and owning the full commercial lifecycle from first engagement through to study award and long-term partnership development.
You will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams while engaging directly with biotech founders, clinical leaders, and investors across the US, Europe, and APAC markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business acquisition across biotech and emerging pharma accounts
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of clinical development opportunities
- Lead sponsor engagement, capability discussions, and proposal strategy
- Support contract negotiations and commercial close activities
- Represent the organisation at international conferences and industry events
- Build long-term sponsor relationships and identify repeat business opportunities
- Collaborate internally with operations and technical teams to support successful project delivery
What They’re Looking For
- 5-8+ years of CRO or clinical research business development experience
- Strong understanding of clinical development and early-phase trials
- Proven success winning and growing sponsor relationships
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate autonomously within a high-growth environment
- International biotech exposure highly desirable
