Sales (Account Manager)

Overview
We’re supporting a well-established, globally backed life sciences organisation in their search for an Account Manager to join their Japan team. This is a growth hire, additional headcount. The business operates at the forefront of advanced genomics and research services, supporting both academic and pharmaceutical clients. Japan is a key strategic market, and this role will play a central part in driving continued expansion.
The Opportunity
This is a commercially focused, client-facing role combining scientific understanding with sales execution. You’ll be responsible for managing and growing key accounts across academia and industry, working closely with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions. It’s a strong opportunity for someone looking to deepen their exposure in a high-growth, specialist area of life sciences, within a stable and well-supported local team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage relationships with academic and industry clients across Japan
- Drive revenue growth through new business development and account expansion
- Work closely with internal scientific teams to position solutions effectively
- Maintain a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and market trends
- Deliver against sales targets while building long-term client partnerships
Key Requirements
- Fluent/native-level Japanese (essential); English sufficient for internal communication
- Scientific background in life sciences, biotechnology, or related field preferred
- Prior experience in sales or account management within genomics/NGS highly desirable
- Open to candidates from adjacent scientific areas with a strong interest in genomics
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders
