Senior Manager, AI & Data Science (Agentic AI)

Location: United States (Hybrid/Remote options available)

Overview

A leading, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical organization is expanding its AI and data science capabilities to accelerate insights, improve decision-making, and enable scalable innovation across the enterprise.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, AI & Data Science with strong technical depth and hands-on experience in agentic AI and modern machine learning frameworks. This individual will play a key role in designing and deploying advanced AI solutions, partnering cross-functionally, and expanding the organization’s use of next-generation AI technologies.


Key Responsibilities

AI & Data Science Development

  • Lead end-to-end development of AI/ML solutions, from problem definition through deployment and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful, production-ready solutions
  • Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases across Commercial, Medical, and enterprise functions

Agentic AI & Framework Integration

  • Design and deploy AI agents and orchestration workflows using modern frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI)
  • Build modular, reusable components for reasoning, retrieval, tool integration, and workflow automation
  • Develop end-to-end agentic systems, including agent connectors, orchestration layers, and integrated interfaces
  • Partner with product and UI teams to ensure seamless delivery of agent-driven applications

Modeling & Applied Machine Learning

  • Design and implement machine learning models, including recommendation systems, personalization, and decision-support tools
  • Apply modern techniques such as embeddings, graph-based methods, and generative AI to real-world business problems
  • Develop AI solutions tailored to healthcare and life sciences commercial use cases

Data Integration & MLOps

  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to build scalable, ML-ready data pipelines
  • Support model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management using modern platforms (e.g., Databricks, MLflow)
  • Ensure production systems are reliable, scalable, and well-governed

Cross-Functional Engagement

  • Translate complex AI concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Align AI initiatives with enterprise governance, privacy, and compliance requirements
  • Work effectively across scientific, technical, and business teams to deliver measurable impact

Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in data science and applied machine learning
  • 3+ years deploying ML/AI solutions in production environments
  • Hands-on experience with agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI)
  • Experience building recommendation systems or similar ML-driven applications
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, Scikit-learn, MLflow)
  • Experience with data platforms and tools (Spark, SQL)
  • Experience working with complex datasets, including feature engineering
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or a regulated industry

Preferred

  • Familiarity with Databricks and modern cloud-based ML environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience deploying agent-based systems into production
  • Proven track record of building AI solutions in healthcare or life sciences settings
