POSITION OVERVIEW
Planet Pharma is seeking a senior HVAC Construction Lead to support a large-scale pharmaceutical capital program in Central Indiana. This is an owner’s representative leadership role responsible for overseeing all HVAC construction activities across a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility including cleanroom air handling, critical environment systems, and associated mechanical infrastructure. The ideal candidate brings 20+ years of capital construction experience with deep expertise in pharmaceutical HVAC systems and GMP cleanroom requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide owner’s representative oversight of all HVAC construction activities including AHUs, ductwork fabrication and installation, chillers, cooling towers, clean utilities HVAC, and associated controls

Monitor contractor HVAC installation progress against approved schedules; identify and resolve conflicts, delays, and quality issues

Verify HVAC installations against IFC drawings, equipment schedules, and validated submittals

Coordinate HVAC scope interfaces with CSA, mechanical, piping, E&I, and process systems construction leads

Oversee TAB (Test, Adjust, Balance) readiness activities and support pre-commissioning HVAC system verification

Lead punch list development and field verification for HVAC scope; track and drive resolution of open items

Manage RFI and submittal processes for HVAC scope; interface with MEP engineering on field conditions

Support HVAC turnover documentation including system completion packages, TAB records, and mechanical completion certificates

Ensure contractor compliance with GMP cleanroom construction standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and site safety requirements

Mentor HVAC Construction Supervisors and Coordinators within the team
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

20+ years of capital construction experience with a focus on HVAC and mechanical systems — REQUIRED

Direct pharma or biotech cleanroom HVAC construction experience strongly preferred; food & beverage, data center, or semiconductor cleanroom experience considered

Demonstrated owner’s representative or client-side construction management experience on programs of $100M+

Deep expertise in GMP cleanroom HVAC systems including AHU construction, cleanroom pressurization, HEPA filtration installation, and critical environment controls

Strong knowledge of ASHRAE 170, ISO cleanroom standards, and FDA facility HVAC requirements for pharmaceutical manufacturing

Experience with TAB processes, duct leak testing, and pre-commissioning HVAC activities in regulated environments

Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and construction documentation management platforms

OSHA 30 certification required; NEBB or AABC TAB certification a plus

BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred

Ability to work full-time on-site in Central Indiana
