Design Technician II
Job Description
As a Design Technician II, you will have responsibility for ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of a medical device system during new product development, supporting systems integration and verification testing test development and execution.
The?Cardiac Rhythm Management team?develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.
A Day in the Life
In general, the following responsibilities apply to the Design Technician II role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Perform system integration test activities which may include manual testing, automated testing, stress testing, alpha testing, and beta testing
- Perform system verification test execution and supports test protocol development, as needed.
- Run project testing, including executing somewhat complex testing, interpreting data, developing key reports, and providing updates to the broader team.
- Solve general technical problems which may require understanding of broader sets of issues and other job areas but are typically not complex.
- Communicate regularly with internal contacts to prioritize, troubleshoot, improve overall lab efficiency, and report out.
- Maintain and track test equipment, which includes ensuring the calibration of test equipment
Specialized Knowledge or Skills –
- Experience following procedures, standards, and basic laboratory techniques.
- Good communication skills, including written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
Nice to have:
1) Testing in a regulated environment, or prior medical device experience would be a plus
2) Ability to set up test systems, that consists of hardware and software (also includes operating ipads and smart phones)
Required Knowledge and Experience: Requires minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Requires high school diploma or equivalent (United States), vocational or technical education or certification (all other countries).
