Job Description
An established medical technology organisation is seeking a Research and Development Engineer to support the development of innovative products within a regulated environment. This is a 12 month full time contract suited to an engineer with growing technical leadership capability and strong problem solving skills.
The role
You will take ownership of defined project elements while contributing to wider programme delivery. You will provide technical input, support design decisions, and collaborate cross functionally to ensure products meet clinical, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Lead technical activities within defined project areas and support overall programme delivery
- Contribute to design decisions ensuring alignment with customer needs and quality standards
- Develop and maintain design documentation including design history files
- Work closely with cross functional teams including product, clinical, and technical stakeholders
- Support development of best practices, procedures, and technical guidance
- Drive innovation through structured problem solving and contribution to intellectual property
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards within a medical device environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Three years experience in a medical device or regulated industry
- Strong analytical thinking and technical problem solving capability
- Experience working within cross functional project teams
- Knowledge of ISO, FDA, or EU medical device regulations
- Strong technical writing skills
- Fluency in English

- Awareness of AI and data concepts with ability to evaluate outputs and improve workflows
