Exciting Opportunity: Associate Director, Clinical Safety in Tokyo, Japan

My client are seeking a seasoned Associate Director of Clinical Safety to lead their Pharmacovigilance efforts in Tokyo, Japan. What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Master’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ clinical safety experience, or Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years’ relevant experience
- Proven leadership in a safety role within a CRO, including hiring, training, and managing teams
- Strong expertise in pharmacovigilance, safety case management, and aggregate reporting
- Experience reviewing clinical study documents such as protocols, reports, and regulatory submissions
- Ability to build and maintain robust relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Fluent in both Japanese and English, with excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with SOP development, process improvements, and safety documentation
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience managing a diverse team of safety professionals
- Knowledge of global regulatory requirements and compliance standards
- Experience working on oncology, cardiology, metabolic, or CNS therapeutic areas
- Prior exposure to cross-cultural or international teams
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in life sciences, nursing, pharmacology, or related field
- Extensive background in clinical safety within a CRO environment
- Demonstrated leadership in managing safety projects and personnel
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to participate in occasional travel if needed
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
