The Opportunity
A leading international manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join its Business Solutions team and play a key role in a major digital transformation programme.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a complex SAP ECC environment while supporting the transition to SAP S/4HANA. You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining SAP solutions that support critical business operations across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance functions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an SAP professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and wants to contribute to large-scale enterprise transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ABAP and ABAP OO applications, reports, enhancements, and forms.
- Support the ongoing optimisation of business processes within a highly customised SAP ECC landscape.
- Contribute to SAP S/4HANA migration and transformation activities.
- Design and implement SAP integrations and interfaces, including IDocs and RFCs.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues within the SAP environment.
- Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and system improvements.
- Create and maintain technical specifications and documentation.
- Participate in testing, validation, and quality assurance activities.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to deliver effective SAP solutions.
- Ensure developments align with compliance, quality, and data governance requirements.
Requirements
- Significant experience in SAP ABAP and ABAP OO development.
- Strong knowledge of SAP ECC within complex or heavily customised environments.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA migration or transformation projects.
- Experience developing SAP interfaces using technologies such as IDoc and RFC.
- Strong understanding of SAP development tools including ABAP Workbench, Eclipse/ADT, Transport Management, and Debugging.
- Knowledge of SAP modules such as MM, PP, SD, FI/CO, and QM.
- Experience supporting testing, validation, and quality processes within SAP environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent German and English language skills.
