Utilities & Facilities Engineer
A global pharmaceutical manufacturing company is seeking a Utilities & Facilities Engineer to oversee the operation and reliability of site utilities and facility infrastructure. This role plays a key part in supporting manufacturing by ensuring essential building services operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day performance and reliability of facility utilities and critical building systems.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, equipment servicing, and reliability improvement activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and support sustainability initiatives.
- Oversee external contractors and service providers, ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.
- Support facility upgrades, capital projects, and compliance activities, including inspections and audits.
- Investigate operational issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement across facilities operations.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
- Experience in facilities, utilities, maintenance, or engineering within a manufacturing or other regulated environment.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services, industrial utility systems, and maintenance best practices.
- Experience managing contractors and coordinating maintenance activities.
- Pharmaceutical, life sciences, food, chemical, or other highly regulated industry experience is advantageous.
- Native-level Japanese with business-level English communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and organisational skills with the ability to work across cross-functional teams.
