Job Title: Senior Maintenance Technician – Pharmaceutical Packaging (Contract)

Location: South-East France (On-site)

Contract Length: Initial 6-month contract with potential extension

Hours: Full-time, 3-shift rotation

  • 05:00 – 13:00
  • 13:00 – 21:00
  • 09:00 – 17:00

Rate: Competitive hourly rate (market rate)


The Opportunity

We are supporting a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturer in the search for experienced Maintenance Technicians to join a critical packaging operation on an initial 6-month contract basis.

This site manufactures high-volume sterile pharmaceutical products and is seeking technically strong professionals who can quickly integrate into an existing team and provide hands-on support across secondary packaging operations.

Due to recent retirements and increased production demands, the business is looking to strengthen its maintenance capability with technicians who can operate autonomously, troubleshoot complex equipment issues, and help improve line reliability and performance.

There are two positions available with an immediate start required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities on pharmaceutical packaging equipment.
  • Support production teams in minimising downtime and improving equipment performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and automation faults.
  • Execute preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Assist with machine changeovers, setup and optimisation.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure manufacturing targets are achieved.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the packaging area.

Required Experience

Applicants must have:

  • 5-10+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience supporting secondary packaging operations.
  • Experience working within sterile pharmaceutical production environments.
  • Previous exposure to both injectable products and suppository packaging operations.
  • The ability to work independently and become productive quickly.
  • Native-level French language skills.

Candidates must have demonstrable experience maintaining and troubleshooting the following equipment:

Thermoforming Machines

  • Marchesini
  • Famar

Cartoners

  • Marchesini
  • GUK

Leaflet Inserters / Insert Feeders

  • GUK Rotanotice

Additional Packaging Equipment

  • Sarong machines

Interview Process

  • Single-stage interview
  • Interview conducted in French with the Technical Director
  • Shortlisting taking place immediately
  • CV submissions required this week
