Job Description

Position Summary
The Technical Assessment Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations of the Technical Assessment Group (TAG), with primary responsibility for intake and triage of new requests, workload assignment, workflow coordination, and accurate workload tracking, metrics, and KPI reporting.

The role uses scientific knowledge to interpret incoming RFPs and other new-business requests, identify the services and technical areas involved, and assign work to the appropriate TAG resources. The Coordinator maintains visibility across team workload and deliverables and proactively follows up on outstanding activities to support timely execution and reliable performance reporting.

As knowledge of Bioanalytical Services capabilities and TAG processes develops, the role may also support and progressively assume responsibility for work scopes associated with established routine services. Complex technical assessments, solution development, pricing strategy, and client-facing activities remain with Business Manager and senior TAG resources.

Key Responsibilities
RFP Intake, Triage, and Workload Management
Review incoming RFPs, capability requests, and other new-business opportunities, using scientific knowledge to identify requested services, technical areas, and complexity.
Assign and distribute requests across TAG resources based on service area, complexity, capacity, and established assignment practices.
Maintain visibility of team workload and identify capacity constraints, competing priorities, or workload imbalances.
Identify incomplete or unclear requests and coordinate clarification; assign complex or non-standard requests to the appropriate Business Manager or senior technical resource.
Workflow, Tracking, and Performance Reporting
Maintain accurate tracking of TAG requests, assignments, status, workload, and deliverables within the Proposal Hub and other applicable systems.
Monitor RFPs and other deliverables against required timelines and proactively follow up with TAG members and cross-functional contributors on outstanding activities.
Identify overdue actions, workflow bottlenecks, and timeline risks and coordinate follow-up or escalation as appropriate.
Maintain complete and accurate data to support workload planning and reporting of team metrics and KPIs.
Support analysis of request volumes, workload distribution, turnaround times, and other operational measures, and identify opportunities to improve tracking and workflow processes.
Cross-Functional and Routine Technical Support
Coordinate with Business Development, Laboratory Operations, Commercial Finance, and other partners to support timely completion of new-business and proposal activities.
As knowledge and proficiency develop, support preparation of work scopes for established routine services using approved templates, assumptions, and processes.
Assign requests requiring complex technical assessment, non-standard solutions, or pricing strategy to Business Managers or appropriate senior technical resources.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or another related life science discipline.
Professional experience in a scientific, laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CRO, or related life sciences environment.
Ability to interpret scientific and technical information and identify relevant services or technical areas.
Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent requests, deadlines, and competing priorities.
Sound judgment with the ability to make workload decisions using established criteria and recognize when additional technical or senior-level input is required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, with the ability to learn new workflow systems quickly.

Preferred
2-5 years of experience within a CRO, bioanalytical laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or related life sciences organization.
Familiarity with bioanalytical testing, drug development, laboratory services, or related scientific disciplines.
Previous experience with proposals/RFPs, project coordination, scientific or commercial operations, or client services.
Experience creating or maintaining operational tracking systems, dashboards, metrics, or KPIs in a deadline-driven environment.

Role Scope
The Technical Assessment Coordinator independently triages and assigns incoming opportunities, coordinates workload, maintains workload tracking and reporting, monitors workflow and deliverables, and drives follow-up on outstanding activities. As proficiency and knowledge of Bioanalytical Services develops, the role may progressively support and assume responsibility for work scopes associated with established routine services. The role is not expected to independently develop complex or novel technical solutions, establish pricing strategy, negotiate client scope, or make final technical decisions; these activities remain the responsibility of Business Managers, senior TAG resources, and appropriate technical subject matter experts.

Pay Rate Range: $24-34.50/hr
