Job Description
Head of Clinical Operations | Australia
A rare opportunity to become a key early hire in Australia for a well-funded, high-growth US life sciences company. This isn’t a traditional Clinical Operations role where you inherit an established team and manage everything through a CRO. We’re looking for someone who wants to get hands-on, take genuine sponsor-side ownership of Australian clinical studies, and help build the local clinical operation from the ground up.
The opportunity:
- Own Australian clinical studies end-to-end from the sponsor side
- Lead HREC submissions, CTN/CTA pathways and Australian regulatory activities
- Work hands-on with protocols, study design, endpoints and trial delivery
- Collaborate directly with senior global scientific and clinical leadership
- Gain exposure to FDA strategy and globally aligned clinical development
- Work across decentralised trials, vendors, participants and study logistics
- Become a key early hire with the opportunity to build out the Australian team
- Meaningful equity participation alongside a strong base salary
We’re particularly interested in people with:
- Strong Australian sponsor-side clinical trial experience
- Direct HREC and CTN/CTA experience
- Hands-on protocol development experience
- FDA / US regulatory exposure
- A strong scientific, medical or pharmaceutical background
- Experience operating in a smaller biotech, start-up or similarly hands-on environment
This will suit someone who wants more than simply managing studies. There is genuine scope to own the Australian clinical program, influence how studies are designed and delivered, and ultimately build a team around you as the business grows.
