Business Support Manager – Communications Office
Job Description
This is a high profile role sitting at the centre of the Communications, Marketing and Corporate Affairs function, acting as a trusted partner to the CCO and ensuring priorities, governance and operational activities run smoothly.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have progressed from a senior Executive Assistant or Executive Business Partner background into a broader business management, operations or chief of staff style role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide proactive support to the Chief Communications Officer, ensuring priorities, actions and decisions are effectively managed.
- Prepare high quality briefings, presentations, reports and stakeholder communications.
- Support planning, governance and reporting activities across the function.
- Line manage the CCO’s Executive Assistant and help maintain a high quality support model.
- Coordinate operational processes including budgets, approvals, sponsorships and reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, governance and ways of working.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure effective delivery of key initiatives.
About You
- 5+ years’ experience supporting senior leaders at Executive or C Suite level.
- Experience in a Business Manager, Executive Business Partner, Senior Executive Assistant or similar role.
- Excellent written communication and drafting skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience supporting governance, planning, reporting or committee processes.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and handling sensitive information.
- Strong Microsoft Office and SharePoint skills.
Desirable
- Experience supporting Communications, Marketing or Corporate Affairs functions.
- Experience managing or overseeing Executive Assistants within a shared support model.
- Background within life sciences, research, healthcare, charity or other knowledge led environments.
- Degree educated or equivalent experience.
