Environmental Business Development Manager

As our Environmental Business Development Manager, you will spearhead new business initiatives, strengthen client relationships, and expand our market presence across Ireland. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of an innovative sector, working closely with executive leadership to deliver strategic solutions and sustainable expansion.

In this role, you will leverage your expertise in environmental services to identify opportunities, develop tailored proposals, and negotiate contracts that align with client needs and company objectives. Your efforts will directly contribute to the company’s growth, with potential to expand into new markets such as the UK. The role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your proactive approach and industry experience will be highly valued.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Business Development, Technical Sales, or Account Management within the environmental services, consultancy, or laboratory testing sectors.
  • Proven success in achieving sales targets and expanding client portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental testing procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a professional network within Ireland.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and self-motivated with a strategic mindset.
  • Solid understanding of public procurement processes and tendering is advantageous.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Science background or familiarity with environmental analysis methods.
  • Existing network within Ireland’s environmental sector including local authorities, water and fuel companies, and consultancy firms.
  • Experience working with clients across diverse environmental testing domains.
  • Comfort with business travel across Ireland and occasional site visits.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in environmental testing, consultancy, or laboratory services sales.
  • Demonstrated success in client acquisition and long-term relationship development.
  • Experience working with or within Irish market segments preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Located in or near Galway, with the flexibility for home-based work.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Ireland and to Galway site.
  • Professional, communicative, and confident in presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to attend weekly in-office meetings.
