As an Account Manager for the Dutch-speaking accounts in the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) business unit, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in patient safety and productivity from hospital to home. This is a field-based position with significant travel. This is a field-based role with significant travel, covering North Netherlands. Candidates should be based in the northern region, above Utrecht.
Our vision for Medication Management Solutions at BD
With our technical capabilities, the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team are able to manage multiple systems and our operational capabilities enable us to have medications available when and where needed, reducing inefficiency and waste for nursing and pharmacy teams.
The Hospital Automation portfolio within our MMS division includes:
* BD Rowa Vmax: an automated box?picking robots for dispensing, inventory management and workflow optimization in the central pharmacy
* BD Pyxis MedStation : automated and modular medication dispensing cabinets that support safe, efficient and traceable medication management on the wards
* BD Cato : integrated software and hardware platform for safe preparation of cytotoxics and TPN, from prescription to final release, including gravimetric verification
Responsibilities:
- Seek for new business opportunities by identifying decision makers and influencers in the market
- Build and maintain relationships of trust with customers, both existing and new
- Apply a project-based approach in daily activities
- Achieve annual sales objectives and drive growth within the region
- Apply the BD Way of Selling, incorporating Customer Centricity and SalesForce.com
- Develop and execute account plans and sales strategies
- Collaborate with senior leaders and decision-makers within the territory
- Successfully plan and convert Connected Medication Management solution opportunities
About you:
- Bachelor or master degree in pharmacy, biomedicine, nursing, business management or other relevant field
- Sales experience in a tender-driven environment, selling capital equipment to hospitals.
- Evidence-based track record in solution selling and cross-functional selling
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong project management skills
- Affinity in Healthcare IT and ICT, experience in Wireless Communication is advantageous
- Proven experience in distributing complex solutions in the healthcare sector
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications
Ideal Candidate
- Based in the Northern Netherlands (ideally Amsterdam or further north). Candidates living in the south of the country will not be considered due to territory coverage requirements.
- First sales experience selling into hospitals is a must-have. Experience can come from medical devices, pharmaceuticals, medication management, healthcare technology, or other healthcare-related products sold into hospitals.
- Strong understanding of hospital stakeholders and procurement processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., pharmacy, biomedicine, nursing, business, or similar).
- Fluency in Dutch and English is required. French is not needed for this role.
- Healthcare IT/ICT affinity, project management skills, and experience with complex solution selling are advantageous.
- Tender experience is a plus but not mandatory.
